The meeting was called to order at 1pm by Nancy Mitchell

D. Harris read the minutes of the last (November 12, 2014) meeting.

N. Mitchell said that she had placed a call in to Washington regarding FERPA implementation. There was extended discussion about whether this committee still needs to address FERPA compliance issues.

N. Mitchell and Sue Cochrane have experienced situations in which FERPA regulations are not being followed, and asked if this group wants to pursue a training for all employees. She noted that the trainings that we researched were approximately $300, and no single training was all inclusive.

J. Ferguson inquired about whether the training could be added to convocation. Suggestion: Employees in Student Services, Adjuncts and divisions are not able to attend convocation.

J. Ferguson then suggested that CVCC produce a video FERPA training tailored for our needs. After a brief discussion regarding the practicality of such a video, S. Cochrane placed a motion that this committee would pursue developing a FERPA training in house video. The motion was seconded by Melissa Dean. The motion was carried.

Debbie Harris will contact Ed McGee about the specifics of producing such a video.

J. Ferguson will contact David Lightfoot regarding placement of the FERPA forms for access during the application process

New FERPA forms are available now. N. Mitchell encouraged members to get copies.

N. Mitchel said that the Haven Training should be implemented very soon. The training will include sexual assault, domestic violence, sexual harassment and stalking.

R. Dove inquired about child abuse concerns. N. Mitchell replied that this is under Title IX.

N. Mitchell asked if there needed to be an interim meeting before April 15.  March 11, 2015 was agreed upon by the majority. D. Harris will secure room 2203, Amherst for 1pm on that date.

The meeting was adjourned.
